About The Artist

The landscape has always fascinated me. The colours are dramatically affected by the changing seasons and the seasonal light in Scotland and I love to try and capture that.

Colour and mark making form the backbone to my work. I try to capture the sense of space and distance between me and the landscape viewed from an aerial perspective.

I pilot a microlight aircraft. Aerial photography along with the sensational views and feelings I get from flying far above the landscape allow me to distil what I see into shapes and colour from a unique perspective.

Having lived in East Lothian all my life the landscape has always fascinated me. The mix of agricultural, coastal and moorland scenery makes for a really diverse and interesting county, especially from the air and I love to try and capture some of that in my work.
